I am a simple lady that loves to craft. In a way, I have been in every aisle in the craft stores and have dabbled in a bit of it all. I worked for many of my teenage years in a small local craft store in PA and can still picture when the “stamping revolution” came to the store. We had a beautiful display from PSX stamps and I wanted one of everything. I then was taught how to heat emboss and thought it was one of the neatest things I had ever seen. Although I didn’t know it at the time, I was starting to dream.
I have a very loving and wonderful husband, Pete, without whom, my dreams wouldn’t have come true. We have been married for almost 13 years and I am truly blessed. I am a mother of 3 great kids – Brendan, age 11, Abbie, age 8, and Meghan, age 6. They are the light in my life and I strive to be the best mother I can while taking every opportunity to see life thru their eyes – the magic is EVERYWHERE!
I received my greatest gift from my mother – the love of crafting and the ability to see things before they are completed. In high school I made hair bows and jewelry of all sorts and started going to craft shows to sell them and make some extra pocket money. When I got married, I dabbled in decorating cakes and trained for a bit thinking that I would love to make cakes for orders. But alas, that was not to be.
In Fall 2005, decided to take a leap into selling my crafts again. But this time I wanted to do more custom work – simply put, I wanted to make something special for people who really enjoyed it. I met a friend of my neighbor who was looking for a “Survivor” themed birthday party invitation and off I went. Looking back, I have done some very fun designs for birthdays – pool party, doggie party, tea party and many more – along with religious celebrations, poker nights, showers, weddings and my most favorite time of the year, Christmas.
I began with a small Open House in Fall of 2006 and sold so much I was busy until Christmas and beyond! I was so thrilled that I could give others something unique and that they appreciated my work! The following year, I continued with my Open House and branched out into some local craft shows. I had a great time showing my items and getting to know people along the way. I now do a lot of business thru word of mouth and thru my e-mail from past customers.
I love to see the new techniques and designs that are out there. I love the new stamp lines as well as the old, and continue to be amazed at the amount of material there is out there to play with. I strive to keep up the “news of the industry” as well as to continue to play with things that interest me. I only wish there were more hours in the day to do more crafting!
Thanks for reading up on me and for your interest in my blog – I’m fairly new at the blog thing, but hope to make it worth your while! Take Care!
