Hello Cupcake! March 14, 2013

Happy Wednesday!   Thanks for stopping by!

I have a cute little card for you today that I whipped up a while back but just noticed that I forgot to post.

If you’ve been here before, you know I have a little obsession with cupcakes – and anything cupcake related!  They are SO popular right now and fun to make, create with, and of course, eat!  Yummo!

Here is my little cupcake girl card :

hello cupcake

Who wouldn’t like to get this cutie in the mail?? 🙂  I love it!

I stamped the image – MFT Pure Innocence Hello Cupcake – in black ink, the paper pieced her dress and cupcake wrapper.  I colored the rest using prismacolor pencils and gamsol blended it.  I used some Spellbinders dies to cut the image out and also a little sentiment.  Finished off with some cute patterned paper and a twine bow.

So, that’s it for today – just a little cupcake cutie!

Hope you are enjoying your week!  thanks for stopping by!

Birthday Boy March 11, 2013

Hello friends!  How are things in your neck of the woods?

Things are good here in Limerick, PA – the spring weather this weekend has put a pep in everyone’s step for sure!

Today I have a quick post for you.  My son is helping me write this post, so he got to choose the card today. Everyone seems to need a masculine card now and then – and they seem to be the hardest ones to create.  Why are guys so hard to create for???  hmmm…..  I’m guessing it’s because they don’t like the florals, buttons, and bows that we tend to like to create with.

Well, anyhow, here’s Brendan’s pick of cards for you –

This is a simple birthday card for the simple boys.  Made with C.C. Designs Balloon Trevor – I just LOVE these stamps!!

I colored Trevor with prismacolor pencils and blended with gamsol – a fav technique of mine – and then used some patterned papers and die cut the sentiment and he’s ready to go!

Hope you enjoyed this “guest post” by Brendan 🙂  Thanks for stopping by!

Mini Valentines February 18, 2013

Hello there friends!
So I am a few days late with getting this posted, but what’s new right?  Well, last week was a really LONG one here at my house and yet a quick one for my kiddos and school!  They ‘celebrated’ the 100th day of school on Tuesday, Thursday was Valentine parties, and Friday was a day off!

I wanted to share a fun project I made with my second grader for her class Valentines.  She had fun helping mommy choose, design, and work on finishing these cuties for each of her class friends. First, let me tell you that we were designing a fun and cute way to package little tatoo boxes I had gotten on clearance last year from one of the big box stores – I simply can’t just give them out, we HAD to dress them up!

Here’s my Meghan hard at work crimping the ends of the packages – simple white and red striped paper cut and crimped on one end, stuffed in the tatoos and an eraser we also found in the stash, and then crimped on the other end.

Here are the puffy little packages all ready for the outside design. 🙂

Meghan then helped me design a sticker for the front of the packages – we used PTI labels and stamps to make it festive with sayings and lots of hearts. 🙂 Then I tied little bows for each using some fun twine in red and white.

Hard at work getting each package put together…..

And here is a pic of the finished product! Just a few nights of working together and my little one had a sweet surprise to give to her friends! So simple and fun to make and I think she really had fun with them – well, I know she laughed and smiled every time I got out the camera and said I was going to take pics to post! HA!

Well, i hope you enjoyed our fun little Valentine treats!
Take care,

Blast Off! July 19, 2012

Just popping in to say hi after a few weeks of getting settled in to our new house.  Things are coming along nicely although I do have to say I am anxious to get at the pile of my craft stuff and get my workshop set up and running. 🙂  Unfortunately, I thought the kids bedrooms and clothing should go first!  Ha!

While I haven’t been able to do much crafting, I have some older cards that i didn’t get a chance to post so I thought I’d share them now.  I saw this cute robot paper a while back and knew that if I got a few sheets of coordinating papers I could make some cute quick cards.  I used a stamp set from CTMH and some glitter glue and google eyes and this is what came of the project.

Some of the robot fun

Quick cuts to make diagonals makes a different look.

So, I used about 5 sheets of paper and cut them all in pieces and made about 10 cards super quick.  Glittered them all up and stamped the sayings and viola!  I hope you enjoyed seeing something fun and new.  I’ll try to be back online again soon for a post!

Take care and stay cool!

Happy Birthday! April 27, 2012

Filed under: Birthdays,C.C. Designs,Kids,Ribbons,Spellbinders — anotherkatecreation @ 1:00 am

A special day here tomorrow, as my darling daughter turns 9!   Where did the time go?  I can hardly believe that her childhood is almost gone!  How time is fleeting these days!

I wanted to share a card I made for one of the lovely girlies in my life  – my favorite stamps are the kids from C.C.Designs and this one is part of their birthday line and has a pretty ribbon in her hands to celebrate.  I used an older paper pad to create with and added a popped up sentiment.   A button with twine adds a special touch to the card.

Here’s hoping you all have a wonderful weekend!  Thanks for checking me out today!

Showcase of Sports April 23, 2012

Here are the last few sports boards I made for my nieces and nephew for Christmas.  These are the “original” boards that I started with.  My nieces are the ones who inspired me to start making these.  They are so into their sport – whatever it may be at a given time – and they are at that age that they like to hang things on their walls, so I thought this would make a great way to combine their loves!

I started out with a hard artist canvas that was 12″x16″, but the others I showed are 12″x12″ ad are stretched canvas.  I like changing things up a bit now and then!  On to the show of sports for today…..

Jordan is my oldest niece and is very into her swimming and is on several teams.  Saw all these glitzy papers and HAD to create!

Emily does do swimming and diving, but while making these, she was also on a soccer team and

doing very well, so I thought I’d highlight that!

Allison is the youngest in the family, but loves to swim as well. She is also on several teams and doing great!

I couldn’t resist the dolphins for her!

This last board is for my nephew, Ryan.  He is an all-around sports guy and participates in so many that I couldn’t choose just one for him.  So, I used a sporty paper with lots of balls and equipment and highlighted some of his favorites.

Okay, hope you enjoyed the “showcase” of sport boards I have made.  Maybe they will inspire you to create something for those you love, or if you want me to make one for you, just give a yell!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Turtle Fun April 19, 2012

Hey there!  Thanks for stopping by again today!  I know what you are thinking… three days of posts in a row?!?!?  🙂  Ahh, yes, I have been in a blogging mood this week so you get to reap the rewards!

Thought I’d show you a fun card I made – just LOVE this little turtle!  I couldn’t resist getting him since birthday cards seem to be what I need to make the most of!  I made him more masculine than my normal cards, but I thought that even the little men in my life would get a kick out of getting him in the mail. 🙂

Fun coloring and an easy card layout made this card a fast and easy one to create!

Off for more fun today – hope you are getting lots accomplished this week as well!
