Hello again!

Short and sweet post for today – I’m here with another Creative Challenge 🙂

I had fun with the last one, and you all left such nice and encouraging messages, it gave me the push to try another one! 🙂

If you don’t know what I am referencing, please see my earlier post “Challenging Myself Creatively” by clicking here.

So flipping to find a challenge, I landed on this one…..

100_2288This is for Challenge #37 on page 78/79  “Say Thank You in a Different Language”

This was a different card for me, since well, I don’t really speak any foreign languages.  But I remembered that when we lived in California, I happened to pick up a great Stampin’ Up! set that was all sentiments in Spanish.  🙂  I grabbed the set and found the Gracias stamp.  Then I thought I needed a bold patterned paper, so I searched my stash and found this bright paper collection (part of my hoard that I actually said was ok to cut up finally!)  I used different patterns and some dovetailed shapes and then tied it all together with the jute twine and a button on the side.

A simple, but happy card, I think. 🙂  Makes me think of some of the great people we met out in CA!

Hope all is well for everyone today – thanks for stopping in!

Birthday Wishes Car April 4, 2011

Happy Monday Morning!  Well,  I hope it is anyway!

Wanted to share an easy-peasy card for you today.  It’s another “rejected” card from a submission call, but I still really like it.

I think it is a challenge to come up with cards and images that are masculine, so when I saw these papers from graphic 45, I had to grab them.  This vintage feel just called to me .  I added some tan grossgrain ribbon (I can’t not add ribbons even though it is masculine!) and the little gold brads on the corners.

Overall, I was really happy with the way it came out, but I think it was too easy for the magazine to take it – after all it was just cut and paste and only the sentiment is stamped.  I guess I let the paper do the work for me.  Then again, I think they need to include some more beginner type projects every once in a while.   But that’s just my opinion! 😉

Enjoy your day!

An Ornament In the Window July 13, 2010

I saw these fancy cards with the paisley and knew that they could be beautiful with a touch of gold and sparkle.  Heat embossing is a fun way to add a glitter sparkle to anything – I made that ornaments gold and dimesional.  The cards are tri-folding with a holiday message inside.  Each is a set of 3 ready to go.

Hello Again! June 8, 2010

Sorry it has been a while since I have posted here – I have been crazy busy with the end of the year happenings for all of my kiddos the past few weeks…. always a busy time of year!  And I have also been busy in the workshop, some secrets I can’t reveal yet, but one I can tell you is that I have been cleaning out a lot and have 2 big boxes of “stuff” ready to sell!  Hoping to get in some hands that will love it more than I can right now!

I’ve also been back at my scrapbooking – proud to say I completed Meghan’s dance book – up to date!  wahoo!  And have been chugging away at Abbie’s dance book.  This summer I really want to get things caught up on all the books – Meg is only 5 months in hers, Abbie about 2 and a half, and Brendan is about 4.  Since they are now almost 5, 7 and 9, I think it is time to crack at them!

Now, on to a card I have in my pile to share…. yep, I said pile!  I have been cracking into a lot of new stamp sets and having fun coloring and blending.  I love the look of the colored pencils blended with Gamsol and it is SO relaxing to me!  I have also found that I can take my pencils and some stamped images and color away while the girls are at gymnastics, Brendan is fencing, I’m waiting in the car, etc. – handy (and productive!) to have something to do!  Only problem I have found is that the other adults around me look at me like I am nutso – but I am used to that!  hee hee!

Enjoy the sunshine and I promise to be better at posting now that school is almost over!
